⚠️Water & Waterfall SafetyLeading cause of death
🌊 Drowning and falls near waterfalls are the park's most prominent official safety warnings — more visitors are hurt or killed on slippery, algae-covered rocks near creeks and waterfalls than by any other hazard. Never climb on wet rocks or swim above a waterfall, and treat all stream crossings with caution during high water. Cell service is extremely limited throughout the park — do not count on calling for help. Black bears are common and generally avoid people, but never approach or feed one; store food properly at all times. NPS safety info ↗
