⚠️Trail & Waterfall SafetySlips & falls▾

🥾 Stay on marked trails and behind railings at waterfalls and overlooks — rocks near Brandywine Falls and The Ledges are frequently wet and slippery, and falls are the most common serious injury in the park. Flash flooding can occur quickly along the Cuyahoga River and its tributaries after heavy rain — never wade or attempt to cross during high water. Poison ivy and ticks (including deer ticks carrying Lyme disease) are common along wooded trails. NPS safety info ↗

🗺️ Cuyahoga Valley has no entrance fee and no single gated entrance — it's a linear park threaded with public roads between Cleveland and Akron, with numerous trailheads and parking areas accessed directly from local roads. 🚂Cuyahoga Valley Scenic RailroadConcessioner▾

🎟️ The CVSR is operated by an independent nonprofit railroad, not NPS — it runs vintage excursion trains the length of the park between Independence and Akron, including a popular "Bike Aboard!" service that lets riders pedal one way and train it back. 🥤Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail87 miles▾

🚧 The Towpath Trail follows the historic 1800s canal route and is mostly flat, crushed-limestone surface — popular for walking, jogging, and biking. Sections occasionally close for construction or flood repair; check current conditions before a long ride since closures can force a detour onto public roads. Current towpath conditions ↗

⛺ No camping is permitted anywhere inside Cuyahoga Valley National Park. The nearest camping is at Cuyahoga Valley's affiliated "Stanford House" and "Inn at Brandywine Falls" lodging, or at nearby Metro Parks and private campgrounds outside park boundaries.
